Community Engagement

During deployment, communities across the United States are constantly changing. Upon a service member's return from duty, these community-level changes can make reintegration even more difficult.

Engaged communities are often the best way to ensure no veterans are ignored, and community leaders of all types have a role to play in troop reintegration.

Over 20 national community-based organizations are working with the Campaign for Healthy Homecoming to outline the cost-effective or cost-free commitments that all communities can implement to welcome veterans home.
